Introduction
Teda health Science College was established as short term training center in 1991 E.C to provide health service management training to enhance the capacity of heads wereda health office heads, zonal health department heads and health facility heads as well as train front line in Amhara regional state.
Before the establishment of this training center this institution was established by in collaboration with American-joint-Ethiopian government for temporary settlement of Ethio-Istraeli people who were migrate from Wuzab, Ambober, Weleka and other areas of in the former north Gondar zone.
In 1997.E.C the training center has been shifted in to health Science College with the proclamation number 29/1997. Since 1997E.C Teda health science college with nursing (clinical nursing in diploma, health assistance and junior nursing) program then program expanded to 7 programs (adding pharmacy level 4, midwifery level, accelerated midwifery level 4, health extension level 3 and 4, upgrade health extension level 4, health informatics technician level 4, medical laboratory technician level 4 and environmental health level 4).
In addition to these academic departments, the college has organized different units under educational development center to rapidly accomplish tasks on time like research and capacity building, community service, monitoring and evaluation, curriculum revision and appraisal.
There is also Students affair and communications department which is responsible to support and strengthen departments by creating conducive working environment for teaching learning process in Teda health science college through establishment and strengthening of different clubs ( charity, sport, gender and HIV, art, hygiene and sanitation…).
