One of among departments in Teda health Science College which has been providing training students to produce competent pharmacy technicians to answer the demands of different health institution to pharmacy professional in Ethiopia. Currently, there are 127 pharmacy students and 10 teachers (4 MSc., 5 BSc and 1 Pharmacy technician holder ) in the college .
Role of department head pharmacy
Department head has to the following tasks:
- Preparing programs and schedule
- Preparing work plan and reporting
- Facilitating teaching learning process
- Controlling and monitoring the students and teachers in teaching learning process
- Facilitate curriculum review, module preparation and other teaching learning materials
- Request different resources (human power, lab inputs, stationers and other different inputs)
- Participating in different team works and campaigns
- Participate in different forums
- Leading regular meeting with the students and teachers
Role of teachers
To bring up quality education, the pharmacy teachers own the following roles:
- Preparing teaching aids and teaching learning materials
- Teaching the students accordingly the schedule and curriculum
- Taking attendance and provide counseling to the students
- Rendering report of teaching learning process
- Providing make up class
- Evaluating the students and submit the results timely
- Participating in different team works and campaign programs
- Conducting researches and quality improvement activities
