High quality educational and training programs that meet standards/plan/ and perform in accordance with standards/plan/ are necessary and the cornerstone of teaching learning process.
Increased public expectation for quality and ethical health care is necessitating changes in what and how health professionals are taught. The increasing need to train more health workers presents a serious challenge to the quality of education of health professionals Despite these challenges, education Institutions train health care providers which have not well-functioning quality systems based on standards that have been cascaded to the department level.
Standards are desirable practices in educating health professionals that incorporate well-recognized and accepted principles of learning and institutional conditions for educational activities and are based on scientific evidence, best practice, expert opinion and judgment and national policies, strategies, guidelines and legislation; there are nine areas and 30 sub-areas of operational standards of Health Science Colleges described as follows
